Given the global nature of the challenges posed by demographic growth, resource scarcity, and climate change, a network of local, national, and international NGOs have arisen to promote the adoption of renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions. The work of these organizations can range from outright advocacy of these solutions to detailed recommendations addressing specific policy, process, financing, or other hurdles facing their deployment. NGOs play an important role by augmenting government, industry, and multilateral efforts to deploy these solutions and by informing their decisions. NGOs’ knowledgeable and dedicated staffs typically understand the technology behind the solutions; can serve as independent aggregators of best practices across regions, governments, and industry players; and can offer an outsiders perspective to challenges facing these stakeholders.
Cleantech Approach works with NGOs to inform their sustainability research and recommendations. Our knowledge of the range of technologies and products enable us to formulate strategies best suited to achieving sustainability goals and target outcomes. At the same time, our relationships with municipalities and knowledge of existing and anticipated policy frameworks allow us to accurately analyze the investment case and financial impact of implementing energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions. Further, our relationships with key players — investors; companies developing the technologies and products; and municipal, real estate, and industry customers — also impart a unique understanding of the complex relationships affecting their deployment.
Examples of services provided to our NGO clients include technology evaluation, investment analysis, incentive alignment, and policy research.
